A tax lien attaches to your property and appears on your credit report if you haven't paid your taxes and you have received notice and demand for payment. The IRS has the right to file a tax lien for the amount of unpaid tax and assessments. This tax lien affects your ability to apply for credit and is also filed with the county recorder's office in the county in which you reside. The tax lien attaches to your equity in real property. Taxpayers have an appeal right once the lien is filed. We can assist in an Appeal hearing, as well as prepare applications for request for discharge and/or subordination of the tax lien.
